Croatia Fail to Capitalize on Early Albanian Lead
Croatia and Albania played out an entertaining 2-2 draw in their Euro 2024 qualifying match in Zagreb on Thursday.
Albania took the lead in the 11th minute thanks to a goal from Qazim Laçi. The visitors held on to their advantage for much of the first half, but Croatia eventually equalized in the 70th minute through Andrej Kramarić.
However, Albania regained the lead just five minutes later when Klaudi Hetemi fired home. Croatia pushed for a winner in the closing stages, but they were unable to find a way through the Albanian defense.
The result leaves Croatia in second place in Group B, behind Armenia. Albania are in third place, level on points with Croatia.
