BJP Wins Regional Votes in Three States
Big Boost for Prime Minister Narendra Modi
Lok Sabha Elections Scheduled for Next Year
NEW DELHI, Dec 3 (Reuters) - India's ruling nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has emerged victorious in regional elections held in three out of four major states, delivering a significant boost to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The victories in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan provide a substantial advantage for the BJP ahead of the Lok Sabha elections scheduled to take place next year.
The BJP's impressive performance represents a setback for the opposition Congress party, but it has managed to secure a consolation win in one of the states.
